UPDATE: Rite-Aid, Monday 11/8/10, Saturday 11/13/10

I was out of town this weekend but managed to fit in a few shops when I arrived back in town.  I planned these shops about a week ago and my pre-planning really paid off.  You can access the ad for Rite-Aid on iheartriteaid.com.  The ad is posted 2-3 weeks early for your convenience.

UPDATE: Just returned from a second shop @ Rite-Aid this week.  I can't believe how many extra deals I find after looking at the ad again!  I won't be inputting the details of the second shop since it is late in the day on Saturday and many of you will have already done your shopping at Rite-Aid this week.  If you want specifics on a particular item leave a comment and I will try and leave you the details if you are still planning on going shopping today (Saturday).

UPDATE: Went out for a 3rd shop to get some Kleenex since it was such a good deal.  Purchased 22 boxes for about $5.00.  Awesome!

NOTE: (for more coupon combinations please go to Southernsavers.com).

NOTE: I ran out of gift cards so I had to pay some money out of pocket; most of my balance was tax.  Haven't figured out a way to get my stuff entirely free from Rite-Aid since you have to pay tax and the UP Rewards will not apply to tax.  I plan on taking my next rebate check and cashing it and buying a Rite-Aid gift card so that I don't have to pay for my tax on my next transactions.

NOTE: The Skittles were purchased to support my new habit which formed at Halloween.

NOTE: I found another $3/1 Neutrogena coupon in one of my other All You Magazines but can't remember which issue.  Just check all of your back issues for the last 4 months or so.

  2. Yes, yes, I know. As you can see....I failed. LOL.

  3. So, what is your secret for keeping your transactions separated while you're shopping and at the register?

  4. Tshanina, my husband has vowed to make me an insert for my cart so that I can separate my transactions. LOL. I'll post it when he makes it. In the meantime I usually load up my cart with one transaction and then purchase it and after I have a few bags of items I go to the car and come back. You could also bring in reusable shopping bags and separate your transactions in bags.

  5. I have used the bags to separate transactions at Kroger during their mega event and that was very helpful. Maybe I'll give it a whirl at Rite-Aid.

I'd love to see your husband's creation. Let him know that his fans are eager to see his work. ;o)

  6. Thrifty, I saw Jenny at Southernsavers mention separating your transactions into bags at Kroger. That's where I got the idea. :)

I'll post my husband's creation as soon as he is finished. Maybe we can market/sell them to the couponing crowd by making a universal bin that fits all supermarket baskets (including the really tiny ones at Rite-Aid). LOL.

  8. Thanks Irmie. I had a great weekend with my girlfriends. Glad you are learning from reading the comments; that is one of the best ways to learn.

  9. I am curious. I have done the rite aid deals in the last few weeks, but I had trouble using more than 2 $5/$25 coupons on 2 different transactions. They told me that my wellness card limited how many of those qs I could use attached to that card. I used them on seperate transaction, but when I got to transaction #3 it beeped. Anyone else have this issue? FYI - I had the same issue with the VV coupons - using more than 1 of the same in a transactions and the $4/$20. Did you do all the transactions in 1 trip on the same day?

  10. Bethany, I have never had the problem that you are describing. I'm not sure if you're trying to combine the $5/25 and the $4/20 VV Q in the same transaction but that may be your problem. You can't use both of those in the same transaction. I have been told that there is a limit of five $5/25 Q's that can be used per trip but not sure if that is true or not. I have done up to 7 transactions on one day. I know that you cannot use your VV Q's more than once for some of the coupons (i.e. I have 4 separate accounts for each member in my family). Some of the coupons are coded for one-time use. The $5/25 Q should not be coded this way but the VV Q's are (some of them).

Hope that helps. Please provide more info. and we'll see if we can help.

  11. Your wellness card shouldn't limit how many $5/25 Q's you use in one shopping trip. When did you have this problem (date please)?

  12. I had the issue when the $5/$25 was beeping at the register. Then I used a VV q $4/$20 on each of 2 transactions and on the 3rd attempt (the next day) the $4/$20 beeped saying I couldn't use it again. I may brave it and try another shop. It's just rough planning a shop and them being out of products or the coupons beeping and it being a total waste of time. I only have 1 RiteAid near me and they never seem to stay stocked (though the manager is very helpful and willing to substitue items for ones they are out of). Thanks for your help! I love to read your amazing posts!

  13. Another questions, can you use 4 garnier VVq in 1 transaction? Do you have more than 1 of the clip n save coupon books? Just curious how this is all working with multiples of the same q in 1 transaction.
    Thanks

  14. Bethany, The VV $4/20 Q's are coded for one time use. You cannot print more than one copy of these coupons or they will beep at the register indicating that you have already used them (they have unique identifier codes printed on them). That's probably why you had the problem. You shouldn't have a problem using multiple $5/25 Q's (the ones that expire on 12/31/10)>

I am able to use 4 VV Q's in my transactions buy YMMV. It really just depends upon the store. I have multiple Q's from the clip n save booklet. Again, YMMY on using multiple Q's from that booklet. Just depends upon your store.

  15. My stores know me and they know that I am an ethical couponer and that I am purchasing these items for many families (not just my own). I have worked hard to build relationships at these stores. You should work hard to build relationships with your cashiers/store managers so that they know you.

  16. Wow, that is AMAZING--great job! Makes me wish there was a Rite-Aid in my area! I would love it if you would come link up your savings at living well, spending less

  17. Question,
I am trying to build up my points before the years end, and I find it slightly confusing how many points you get for each transaction. I read you get 1 point for each dollar (precoupon total)you spend in your transaction. Do you find this to be the case? I am trying to get 200 more points by the end of the year and any advice would be awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anon, I don't have any advice for you. Not really sure how the points work. Just started couponing at Rite-Aid a few months ago. Maybe someone else can answer.

    Thanks.

  19. How did you get more than 2 toothbrushes. After I bought 1 toothbrush, and 1 crest scope mouth wash, My $2.99 up rewards would not print out. I called customer service and they said that 1 was the limit and they would mail me the 2.99 because it wasnt listed in the paper. Did your up rewards print out on each toothbrush? How did you make it work do you have multiple cards? How many cards do you have? I too wanted to stock up I love those oral b toothbrushes. chrystalm

  20. Anon. I had to return two of the toothbrushes and get a refund and then re-purchase them on my husband's card to get the UP Rewards. Those items eventually had a limit of 2 per card.

  21. Hi. Can you tell me where to get the $5/$25 printable couple?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Cindy, the link for the $5/25 is at the bottom of the post right above the section that lists how much money I saved. Just click on the word "printable."
