I was pretty exhausted while doing this shop today. I stayed up way too late last night to get all of our stuff unpacked and put away after our week-long vacation to Utah. We really didn't plan on returning last night. We set out on Saturday fully expecting that we would be home by nightfall. We hit another blizzard in Winnemucca, NV at around 6:00pm so we had to spend the night in a hotel.
After I unpacked everything I realized that I hadn't planned for my shop so I decided to stay up and gather all of my coupons. I kept finding good deals so I continued to clip and clip and clip. Well, let's just say that I didn't hit my pillow until very late. I'll sleep really, really well tonight.
I wanted to make sure that I did a shop today because I really wanted to throw in the two play tents for the girls. I love play tents and I thought that they would have fun connecting them together to build their own little fort. They might even like to sleep in them tonight. That makes me smile.
I'm still thanking the Lord that little Sydney fell asleep in the double stroller as I was shopping; I really didn't think that she would last and then I looked down and saw her sleeping and I prayed a prayer of thanksgiving for God's goodness to me today especially since I am so tired. Savannah happily sat in the stroller and watched cartoons on the iTouch. These are the little strategies that I employ while shopping with my small children. I also bring plenty of juice (a special treat in our house) and lots of goldfish. If you have any special tips that you employ to keep your children occupied please share them in the comments. I'm sure we would all love to hear them!

NOTE: I used the overage from my shop along with the $5/25 Q's to purchase the two Play Tents.
Did you order more of the Olay/Secret coupons on E-bay? I need to buy more to qualify for the rebate. Great shop! I'm sure you are glad to be home.
ReplyDeleteHey Lori. I did order more of the Olay Coupons. Paid about $8 OOP for 20 of them. We were running low on soap and they provide $22 in overage. Unfortunately, they expire on 11/30 so if you're going to order them then you'll need to get a raincheck from your store of choice so that you can use them.
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to pass this time around. Maybe is is the combined normal shopping with Christmas shopping but I feel worn out!
ReplyDeleteYou should just forego shopping this year. Really. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat's why we don't buy Christmas gifts. I don't like being busy during this time of year. Maybe we'll fly to an exotic island and just ignore all of the hoopla surrounding this time of year. I'm really not a bah-humbug. I just don't like to busy myself with all of the activity. We enjoy a few things in December but we mostly just relax while everyone else is making themselves crazy. Ha!
"while everyone else is making themselves crazy."
ReplyDeleteOf course, some people could say the same thing about couponing. LOL.
lol- i was about to say the same thing! I make myself crazy almost every day of the week scouring for deals and putting them together. ;)
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI had a question about the 10% discount... I think, I reached over 500 points and it says everyday 10% discount. How can I plan my shops? Should I subtract the 10% of total purchase or is it only for certain items? I am a bit confused. Thank you.
Hi Lily. Welcome to the blog. The 10% discount only comes off of items that are NOT on sale. It's still a little confusing to me too! You should only subtract the 10% on items that are not on sale. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can beat goldfish and an iTouch! I usually just have the older feed the younger Cheerios. We look forward to shopping at Costco, even Micah recognizes the sample counters. Sarah W
ReplyDeleteSarah, hi there!!! It's so nice to "hear" from you on the blog. I'd like to tell you that I bought that iTouch with coupons and got it for free, but, alas, it was a gift. :) Still, I'm always looking for ways to get the stuff that I use for free and an iTouch for free would be awesome. LOL. Looking forward to hearing from you again. Really enjoyed seeing you the other night!
ReplyDeleteMade those pumpkin bars tonight. I never really liked pumpkin pie that much but these were as good as you promised! Sarah W
ReplyDeleteHey Sarah! I'm really glad that you tried them out. I don't like pumpkin pie either; it's mainly a texture issue for me. The pumpkin bars don't have that weird gummy texture.
ReplyDeletePlus, I'm pretty sure that anything with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon can't be all that bad. Actually, if you just took butter and mixed it with brown sugar and cinnamon that would taste pretty awesome; maybe spread on toast. I'm going to try it.
In the meantime, I still think about you and pray for you often. I really enjoyed the time that we spent together at your house that one day. You really ministered to me when I needed a friend. Thank you so much sweet sister.
