UPDATED: Rite-Aid, 6/5-6/12

Last weekend
We were camping last weekend in the wine country so I wasn't able to post my shop.  I actually made it to Rite-Aid on the last day of the sale and scored a few good deals.  I spent the majority of my UP Rewards so I had to start all over again this week.  It was a beautiful Memorial Day weekend and we really enjoyed spending time with our children.

To my friends at RCG, GBC, and CBC......We went to several wineries in Healdsburg, CA and we had some wonderful opportunities to share Christ with some of the people that we encountered.  What a joy to share the good news that we can be forgiven of our sins and know the peace of a life in Christ.  The beauty of the wine country filled me with joy as I contemplated God's creation.

My shop today
I was pretty excited to get up this morning and head out to Rite-Aid to get the Oxi-Clean and the Pampers.  I needed both of them and I found everything in stock!  I had to go to 3 different stores today to get what I needed.  I hit the first two stores this morning and then stopped at a different Rite-Aid near my house on the way home from lunch.

It was a very strange day today at Rite-Aid.  A mysterious day....

It started out well and then as soon as I got to the register it began to get a little kooky.  For some reason none of my UP Rewards printed on my first transaction (the Pampers, Veet, and the Oral-B toothbrushes didn't print).  I was out $18 in UP Rewards but the manager that I ended up talking to was new and I realized that he was just plain nervous so I decided to just call customer service to find out what happened.  I didn't have time to do any of my other transactions because I spent too much time at the register on my first transaction and I wanted to go to another store to find some more Veet.

I travelled to my favorite store and one of the cashiers greeted me and asked me how my morning was going.  I told her about the mysterious UP Rewards and the manager that I had encountered at the last store and my decision to just call Rite-Aid.  She very graciously offered to just give me my UP Rewards on a gift card so that I wouldn't have to wait to get them in the mail.  I'm still trying to figure out why my UP Rewards didn't print out.  Usually that would only happen if I had reached my limit on the items.  If anyone out there knows why this might have happened please leave me a comment or email me.  Thanks!

I was afraid to use my wellness card with the 20% discount after that first transaction so used another card the rest of the day.  I wasn't able to maximize my savings because I didn't have my 20% discount, however, I still saved a little bit.  For some reason the UP's from my last transaction didn't print today for the Veet or the Pampers (and I was using a different card).  Like I said....it was a mysterious day.

My out of pocket was higher than normal because I calculated my deals wrong and didn't separate my transactions efficiently.  Oh well, I was totally off my game today.  It happens.

  1. It's Rite Aid...I think they have Monkeys running the controls. I don't think I've been surprised by anything that's gone on there in quite awhile.

Loved your camping pics! The scenery is beautiful.
The girls are cute as buttons. I like my marshmellows burnt :-)

The tent looked fantastic. I might would go camping if I had something like that.
I still have memories of camping out by the lake as a kid back in the 70's, wall to wall sleeping bags, 6 or 8 crammed into a small tent, smelling like lake water, sweat, and stinky feet. Anytime John has ever mentioned camping, I feel queasy and tell him that's a "Dad and boys" thing, lol.

  2. I tried to do the Veet deal and Oral-B toothbrush deal, but none of my UP rewards printed either. In addition, the Weekend Warrior (from last month) was not tracked and did not print.

  3. Melissa, I would never go camping without a gigantic tent. My husband does everything. He sets up the tent, unpacks, builds the fires, brings heaters so I'm not cold, etc. He is a total sweetheart. He really does most of the work. I don't love to camp but if he's willing to do the work then I'll go with him. I think we got that tent at Costco about 10 years ago. It was about $100. I saw one at Costco a few days ago for $140 and it was gigantic. It was a Coleman tent. Anyway, we did have a fun time with the children and the wine tasting and scenery was beautiful. I'm ready for my next cruise though (wink).

  4. Anonymous, What region are you in? Make sure you call 1-800-RITEAID and have them send you the UP Rewards in the mail.

  6. Me, too! I was checking out T'giving cruises again the other day. Expensive time to go, but the only time the kids have school break at the same time. Other than Christmas, but we did that once, and I won't leave home at Christmas time again.
Anyway, I doubt I can get the rest of them to go again this year.

We're going to Charleston/Folly Beach in a couple of weeks. I don't love the Atlantic water, but I'll take whatever I can get I guess.

  7. Melissa, Thanksgiving cruises always go on sale around October. If you can wait and book it then you will save a bundle. I would highly recommend sailing on Celebrity. Their new ships are just beautiful. They will be greatly discounted this year; we're planning on going this November if we can find a good rate!

  8. That's what we did last year.
I forgot it was Celebrity that you'd mentioned before, I was looking up Princess and Royal Carib.
You get outside of the Circus and they're all the same to me, lol. I will check out Celebrity, but it'll still be a miracle if I talk the others into going again.
Can you imagine not liking Cruising?? Blows my mind.
