My hubby and I went away for the weekend. We were supposed to hang out with our dear friends Jon and Tiffany W. but, alas, a blizzard and highway closure prevented us from reaching them in Tahoe! We missed you guys but hope you had fun.
Our bags were already packed so we just picked a city and headed off to our new location. We found a good deal on priceline ($45 a night at the Courtyard by Marriott in Pleasanton, CA).
We spent the rainy weekend reading books to our children, playing in the jacuzzi, eating at many of the local restaurants and watching our little girls scream and play at the indoor playground in the Stoneridge Mall.
We also went shopping for all of the things that we are going to need this Spring/Summer (shoes for the girls, shoes for us, clothes for Savannah, housewares for a friend, etc). It was an enjoyable weekend although it flew by way too fast. I was really hoping for some time with the hubby alone this weekend but we were just so exhausted by all of the work that we have had to do over the last two months that we were fast asleep soon after the girls went to bed. Sigh. Here's hoping that we can spend some time together soon. My hubby has been super busy at work and things will not slow down for him until the beginning of May. We are definitely going on vacation as soon as he is finished so that we can spend some quality time together!
Hope some of you were able to get out this weekend for a little shopping at Rite-Aid! I'm hoping to go shopping tomorrow but we'll see. I'm staring at laundry and a desk full of administrative work so it's possible that I'll just skip it this week. It's not a great week at Rite-Aid for me but there is one good deal that I want to snag tomorrow.

Headed out first thing on Sunday morning so that I could ensure that the Purex and Motrin would be in stock. My local store only stocked 6 of the Purex and I really needed 4 of them so I am glad that I went early (although a raincheck would have been fine too)!

NOTE: The ad for the chloraseptic indicated that the 18-40 ct. were the only boxes on sale. The 15 count chloraseptic max was also on sale and produced the UP Reward.
NOTE: I calculated the Maybelline deal wrong. For some reason I kept inputting the makeup at 60% off on my calculator. I don't like to pay money for makeup since you can get so much of it for free when you coupon. I'm going to return the makeup on my next shop since I thought it was going to be much cheaper.

UPDATED: Rite-Aid, 3/6-3/12
Did a quick shop today while my friend Anna watched my children for me (thank you Anna)! There's a few good deals out there.
UPDATE: Stopped at another Rite-Aid today to look for the Physician's Formula makeup. I went to a small Rite-Aid today so they didn't even carry that brand of makeup. I decided to use up some of my rainchecks since it was a sleepy store (i.e. there wouldn't be a line of people behind me as the cashier tried to input my raincheck information). It was a fun and quick shop (took about 15 minutes total). Picked up some more diapers for my friend Anna who is going to have a baby soon. If I haven't mentioned the power of rainchecks then let me mention them now. Rainchecks are awesome. You should never be discouraged if a store is out of stock. Just get a raincheck and use it at your convenience when they are stocked up again. It's a great way to add in moneymakers when you need them. I added in the Dove (which is a moneymaker) to pay for the rest of my diapers. Voila! FREE diapers.

Whole Foods, 3/2-3/8
I couldn't resist heading out to Whole Foods again today to pick up some tomato products. My stockpile of tomato products is dwindling; I am almost out of diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and paste. I stocked up on these items almost 2 years ago and I needed to replenish my stockpile. Since the deals are "few and far between" on this side of the country I planned to get up early and hit Whole Foods before going to the gym.
I found peelies on the tomato products so I purchased more than I had intended to. This reserve might only last me through the end of the Summer so I may go back tonight to get some more.
