2ND UPDATE: Rite-Aid, 4/24-4/30

My oldest daughter loves to be in our Rite-Aid shop picture!

My other lovely daughter....

Jason and I headed out to the drive-in tonight to watch the new "Rio" movie with the children.  As we were driving there he turned to me and said, "hey, I think we need some movie candy."

I just smiled.
He pulled out the GPS and mapped us to the nearest Rite-Aid.

I planned my shop almost 2 weeks ago but didn't think that I was going to get a chance to go to Rite-Aid because I was really busy this week.  I'm so glad that I had my coupons with me.  I threw in a couple of moneymakers and picked up the things that I really wanted and then we headed to the register.  I had a seamless transaction which made the evening even better.

We headed to the drive-in.  Upon our arrival we were shocked by the sight that was before us.  There were at least 50 cars in each lane waiting to pay for entrance into the drive-in.  Our movie was supposed to start in 15 minutes and we knew that it would take at least 45 minutes to get through the line.  We weren't going to the movies tonight. We decided to head to McDonalds for ice cream cones to ease the pain of the disappointment.

We will try and go back tomorrow night to catch our movie but apparently we will have to show up at least an hour before the show on a weekend night!

Hope you all did well this week.  I wasn't able to get as many items as I had planned given that I only had a short time in Rite-Aid.  I might go shopping again tomorrow if possible to pick up a few more items.  :)

UPDATE: Explored a few more blogs before I left this morning and found a few more moneymakers.  :)  Headed out for a very quick shop (under 30 minutes).  Made $20 on my shop.  A good return for my time.  I will also sell most of these items at my next garage sale and make a little more money (made $400 a few weeks ago at our garage sale selling off our excess stockpile).

NOTE: I rolled my UP Rewards and still had money left on my gift card.  I'm almost out of money from my gift card so I'll have to cash my upcoming Rite-Aid rebate check to buy another gift card to help pay for my tax.  :)

NOTE: I purchased the wrong Motrin PM.  I didn't check the ad carefully enough.  The $1 UP Reward didn't print and that was my first clue that I had done something wrong.  Turns out the UP Reward only prints on the 40-80 ct. boxes and I bought the 20 ct. boxes.

NOTE: Can you see how reaching the 20% discount level can be very beneficial (see moneymaker section above).  Make sure you have registered your wellness card online at Rite-Aid and then log-in regularly to see how close you are to the 1000 point level. All of your manufacturer coupons count towards your wellness points (along with a 25 point bonus if you fill your prescriptions at Rite-Aid).  Rite-Aid coupons do not count toward your wellness point balance.  Last year it took me 7 months to reach the 1000 point level; this year it only took me 4 months (i.e. start out slow and grow your balance as you shop; if you shop at Rite-Aid regularly then you might hit that 1000 point level by the end of the year).  If you reach 1000 points by December then you will enjoy 20% off of everything in the store for the rest of 2012.

NOTE: I didn't actually buy all 7 of the Visine's yet.  I have to go to another store to purchase 4 more this afternoon.  Just including the scenario so that you can go out and do it if you use Visine or you are interested in stocking up on items to sell at a garage sale.

3RD UPDATE: Rite-Aid, 4/17-4/23

There were so many deals this week that I had a really hard time keeping track of all of my coupons.  I woke up early on Sunday and organized the coupons that I had clipped the night before.  The stack was quite large which always makes me feel a little apprehensive since I know that I will have to break up some of my transactions and this is difficult to do when you have limited time to shop.  I left the house a little later than usual and was only able to get some of the deals this week.  I opted to purchase the items that I thought might go out of stock.  I plan to go back sometime this week to purchase the haircolor and shampoo items that I had on my list as they usually don't stock out of these items that quickly.

Hope you all had a great shop this week.  It was a fun week at Rite-Aid for cleaning products, body wash and make-up and hair products.

UPDATE: Headed out again today to get the rest of the stuff that was on my list.  Did four more transactions and received four more surveys (yeah)!!  I now have five $3/15 Rite-Aid Q's to use next week on my shop.  Should be a good week.  Leave a comment if you found another great deal this week that you want to share with me and the other folks that read this blog.  Thanks!

3RD UPDATE: Went to Costco tonight and ran into the store on Auburn to pick up some free Lysol wipes (left several in stock for you gals that shop there....wink).  Had a difficult transaction with the cashier.  They laid out all of my items and then laid out each coupon to match up with each item and the transaction literally took about 25 minutes.  I complained to the manager and explained to him that my husband and children were waiting for me in the car and that I wouldn't be able to shop at this Rite-Aid anymore if the transactions were going to continue in this manner.  He told me that corporate had sent them a memo indicating that their coupons were not being redeemed by the manufacturer.  I will need to contact corporate as this is the 3rd time that I have heard this remark this week.  We'll see what happens.

NOTE: all of the above deals are tracking so feel free to just purchase what is in stock and then go to another store and purchase the rest.  The system will track how much you've spent so long as you use the same wellness card for each transaction.

NOTE: I managed to roll my UP Rewards again and then used my gift card to pay the remaining balance of about $15.  I always cash the Rite-Aid rebate checks that I receive in the mail and then I purchase a Rite-Aid gift card so that I can keep rolling all of my costs; that is how I pay nothing out of pocket.  :)

NOTE: The Ester-C was finally back in stock so I threw it into my transaction as a moneymaker so that I could purchase some candy for Easter.

NOTE: Kelley, Irmie, and Jerilyn....I would highly recommend that you find a different Rite-Aid to go to if you are shopping at the Auburn store.  Looks as though this store is changing it's coupon policy.  They are matching up every item to every coupon which will make your transactions really, really long.  They are also a little hesitant about the use of coupons and are no longer adjusting coupons to match the price of the item even though that is Rite-Aid's policy.  They seem a little nervous towards couponers which is going to mean problems for all of you.  Just an FYI....

UPDATE: Rite-Aid, 4/10-4/16

I ventured out to Rite-Aid first thing on Sunday morning so that the I could have my choice of John Frieda products.  I actually like the John Frieda line and was pretty excited to pick up some new products to try.  I was also hoping to snag a few Glad trash bags.  We were running low on trash bags in our stockpile and I had a few moneymaker items that could absorb some of the cost of the trash bags.  I spent some of my extra UP Rewards on Huggies wipes as we were also running low on wipes.  I had almost two years of wipes stockpiled and we just ran out this week.  I just picked up enough to get me through potty training next month.  Hopefully we won't be buying anymore wipes/diapers after this.  It will be nice to spend my extra UP Rewards on something else.  :)

UPDATE: Just did another quick shop today (Wednesday) so that I could pick up some FREE Mitchum (my favorite deodorant) and some more trash bags.

Rite-Aid, 4/2-4/9

I have been trying to get to Rite-Aid all week but I have been swamped with several projects.  I'm going to be swamped next week too but I hope to get out and get my shop done.  The deals for this shop ended today so I'm not going to post the details, however, it was a fun shop and I was excited to get the Nasal Rinse stuff as I'm almost out of rinse packets.  I just LOVE getting free hairbrushes too!  I didn't spend anything out of pocket since I still have money left over from my Rite-Aid rebate check.  :)

Hope you had a great shop this week!

Let me know if you have any questions about the shop.
